How To Use The Stencils

1) Rub vegetable shortening on the sides or top of the fondant cake to act as a glue so that the stencil will stay in place. You may also use masking tape. No need to do this if the cake is covered in buttercream frosting as it will act as a natural glue to hold the stencil. 

2) Decorate the cake in various ways:

• 2a. Use an airbrush or a pastry brush and the food colors of your choice
• 2b. Spread fresh royal icing or piping gel using a palette knife onto the stencil instead. 
• 2c. Place on top of a cupcake or uncovered cake and lightly shake powdered sugar or cocoa powder on top.

3) Gently release the stencil to make sure that the food paint, icing, or powder design isn't ruined.

4) Set for the paint to dry and serve. 

Note: Another option is to lay a flat fondant and use the stencil to decorate it first before covering the cake.
